Multiplayer Coming Soon!

Hello!

First of all, thank you to everybody who has supported Raven through its development and launch. After the release in May, I took a short break before planning out the first update, version 1.1.0.

It’s taken some time, but this update is almost ready! I can’t wait to share it with you all. Below, I’ve outlined the major changes that you’ll see on October 7th.

Multiplayer

Soon, you’ll be able to explore multiplayer mode, and join online games with friends. Multiplayer is cross-platform, so you can match with players on iOS, Android, PC and Mac.

In multiplayer, you can create a private or public lobby and share it with friends, or find a random online match. Each player can choose their team, or be randomly assigned.

Since Raven is a 4-player experience, any empty lobby slots when you start are populated with AI, so you always have the right number of players.

Being able to play with friends online is one of the reasons that I took on this project. I’m excited for you all to experience it!

Scorekeeping

Since Raven’s release, I’ve gotten requests for more in-depth score information, such as seeing the score breakdown and bid info for each round instead of just the total scores.

The in-game scoreboard can now be expanded. Hitting the scoreboard menu button ☰ will expand the scoreboard, revealing more info from each round. Here you can find which team placed the bid, and how many points each team earned.

AI Tweaks

In the months since the initial release, I’ve received some helpful feedback about the AI players. In a number of situations, the AI will play cards that don’t make sense for a team-based game.

In version 1.0, if the player is going to win a hand, the AI still decides to trump it if it can. This has happened to myself a number of times as well.

This next update will address the issue, so that your AI teammate is a team player moving forward.

New Theme!

One more theme couldn’t hurt. Here’s a peak at the “Snowy Woods“ theme coming next month.

That covers everything being added in the next version of Raven! Thanks for the support, and I can’t wait to get it to you.
